CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. They are an NHS service for children, young people (0-18) and their families, where there are concerns about emotional well-being, behaviour and mental health.
Within City & Hackney, CAMHS deal with a range of issues from common worries that get in the way of everyday life to more severe and long standing difficulties. They also offer support for living with and understanding disabilities and autism. There are three CAMHs teams that work across City & Hackney: First Steps, Specialist CAMHS and CAMHS Disability.
